Keith took a deep breath before speaking up again, “Didn’t I fucking tell you to disappear?”
At that Lance’s heart – the one that he only just seemed to have glued back – shattered.
“I-I just-”
“No! LEAVE! You are NOT him! He was there for me! And you…” he exhaled, “Honestly, who do you think you are? Did you think I’ll just wait for you forever? That I’ll sit patiently and wait for you to finally pull out the stick you have up your ass, and…”
Lance didn’t know what to say, and so he didn’t. Keith on the other hand went on.
“All I want from you, is to disappear! You are not Shiro. You will never be half the man he ever was.”
The boy pushed himself up and out of Lance’s arms. And Lance let him go.

Alternatively : Lance and Keith are childhood friends but they got separated for 5 years. A misunderstanding makes it so their next encounter isn't sweet. It isn't even bittersweet. It's just bitter. So, so bitter. Keith is angry,. And Lance is confused and hurt, which leads him to make some... questionable decisions. Get ready for Angst. There are some referenced deaths and bullying. A story of missed opportunities and regrets, yet still, somehow everything ends up okay.
Aternatively: Lance feels like the 7th wheel and misses Keith, the team doesn't help in the slightest. Lance doesn't want to appear weak so he doesn't say anything, and lets his friends talk down on him. His friends' words hurt his mind and soul, that is until they actually lead to something much worse.
But maybe one person can change everything. Wonder who that one might be?

"Wait, Shiro has a brother?! How come I didn't know this?!"
Pidge looked up from their phone, "Keith is his adoptive brother. They're really close, so I don't know how he hasn't been mentioned, or you just weren’t paying attention. Anyways, here's a picture of him."

The team gets an unwelcome look into Lance’s mind when Allura introduces an AI, Blaineri, to assess their mental states without knowing about the memory showing function. He doesn’t want them there, doesn’t want them to see, but AI is hard to argue with. Lance’s insecurities are on display for all of them, and he hates it more than anything. Everyone learns a few things about their loverboy.
