    A rearrangement/reworking of The Long Game. Instead of skipping ahead the way TLG does. This tells various stories that would occur during that 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year when Shane is still a Voyager and Ilya a Centaur.

    Timeline is roughly:

    Ilya's First Centaur Season:
    Rip off the band-aid - Summer- immediately after Heated Rivalry, still at the first ever cottage getaway.
    I Only threw this party for you - Fall - That very halloween, roughly 4 months from the cottage.
    I got to hear it from your lips - Late Fall/Winter - where Ilya is jealous of Shane getting attention by other gay men now that he's out. (short flashforward scene in the end)
    Ilya's 2nd Centaur Season:
    Can I get Shane's Number? - Fall- Troy joins the team mid-season. Nov - January timeline
    Let's all meet Harris - Winter - Harris joins the staff in Feb.
    Ilya's 3rd Season:
    Two Drunken Nights Two Months Apart - Fall - 1 October night, 1 Jan. night. 1 press conference.
    Make no Apologies - Winter - Ilya's third Centaur season - January/Feb
    Rock Bottom to Rock Solid - Spring Playoffs to Summer cottage friend getaway weekend

    Ilya knew he had fucked up the moment he'd said it. But he hadn't been able to help it.

    He had known earlier that day when he had double checked his refrigerator to make sure the Canada Dry ginger ale he had bought the day before hadn't sprouted wings and flown away. And he had known when he had researched easy recipes of things he could make that fit Hollander's strict performance diet earlier that week that they were playing a dangerous game.

    The two of them were Rozanov and Hollander, and that was all they could ever be. Ilya knew that. They were Hollander and Rozanov to the public, to the media, to their teammates, to their coaches, and they were supposed to be that to each other as well.

    But Ilya had called him Shane. And then Shane had left.

    Or:

    What if after the tuna melt scene when Shane runs, Ilya is the one who gets a public girlfriend. They say every action has an equal an opposite reaction... or in this case, maybe an overreaction.
