Summary
In a city overflowing with hero-villain chaos, Yoo Joonghyuk is a top-ranked hero known for his efficiency, reliability, and seemingly complete lack of interpersonal entanglements. On the other side of the law is a ‘villain’ known only as “Salvation.” He’s got a quick wit and is even quicker to escape capture, though he seems to enjoy getting caught a little too much.
Spring is fresh, and romance is in the air.
No one tell the agency.

This morning, Kaeya woke with the peculiar feeling of frost biting at the edge of his bones. It was a cold that settled too deeply into his skin to be explained by mere weather. It had been months since he’d last felt this kind of chill, the kind that didn’t come from outside.

Summary
“I’m sorry, did you say eleven years old?” Ratthi asked, because humans can’t play back bits of conversations that they didn’t hear and are always asking each other to repeat things, much to the annoyance of any contracted SecUnits being forced to listen in and record everything they say to be sold for advertising data.
“Yes,” Gurathin confirmed, and then everyone was staring at me and looking all shocked and sad and whatever.
“Constructs don’t age the same way humans do,” I reminded them, before anyone could start thinking anything stupid like oh no, Murderbot is just a little kid and little kids shouldn’t be doing security and eleven year olds shouldn’t have guns in their arms. "Eleven is old for a SecUnit. Most of my inorganics are already past warranty.”
Except, because I’m an idiot, that didn’t make it better. It actually made it worse, because now even Dr. Mensah was making a concerned face at me.Bookmarked by inspiteoflogic

This Unit: Where is my owner, Dr. Mensah?
Dr. Yuen: Well, that’s the million dollar question, isn’t it? SecUnit, where did you last physically interact with Dr. Ayda Mensah?
Information Retrieval: Dr. Ayda Mensah last interacted with This Unit on Preservation Station at 08:27:22 on 4098-09-17 CRST.
This Unit: You do not have permission to access that information.
Dr. Yuen: You’re incorrect, SecUnit. We do. Answer the question.

(When the infamous rogue SecUnit of the Preservation Alliance gets captured, the corporate techs assigned to it expected to be able to get some juicy data, or at least some insights into its cracked governor module. They didn't expect something so... basic.)

Four times having a governor module fucking sucked, plus one time [REDACTED: FILE MISSING].

Summary
On a corporate owned mining asteroid in the depths of the Corporation Rim, a group of plucky, heroic, indentured humans have just decided to make their first move in a daring escape plan. Said first move is a deceptively simple hack, putting control of their corporate overlords' single, overworked SecUnit into their hands.
Little do they know, this murderbot is already hacked.

Summary
Murderbot's made a lot of stupid decisions, usually for good reason. Or at least, what seemed like a good reason at the time. Re-enabling its governor module, even if only in a last-ditch attempt to keep its humans safe, had been the only card it had left to play. But things didn't work out as planned, and after four years of freedom, it's back.
If only MB can even tell its humans what's wrong.Bookmarked by inspiteoflogic
