There’s a beat, a long agonising beat, and then Zoro groans. “Fuck off, Cook.”
Sanji can’t stop his relieved laugh.

Summary
Eddie has a surprising amount of muscle definition going on in the forearm region. Jamie has witnessed, on four separate occasions, someone do a double take at Eddie’s forearm. Karen from HR still bears the nickname ‘Mugbreaker’ after Eddie turned the corner near her office, coming face to face with her just as he rubbed a hand through the hair at the nape of his neck, exposing the wiry flex of muscle between wrist and elbow, and Karen famously dropped a cup of coffee all over the floor. Ergo, either Eddie goes to the gym, or he’s on steroids.
Eddie is the kind of man who keeps a makeshift itemised medicine cabinet in his third desk drawer, with a padlock on the handle, the key for which he keeps in the inside pocket of his suit jacket, and who administers a library style check-out system of medication whenever anyone asks for a Paracetamol.
Eddie is probably not on steroids.
Eddie's coworker finally convinces him to bring his elusive spouse to an office party. It goes about as well as you might expect, which is to say spectacularly.

It’s a blueprint, slapped right down on his workbench on top of a delicate redstone repeater he was attempting to wire. Now, Impulse knows that Cleo has an eye for detail herself, being an accomplished sculptor with her armor stand work, but she also had little by way of patience, especially when she wanted something. So when she barged her way into his semi-hidden base, he had let her. It’s not like she was Red.

Summary
Doc still heard that moment. He heard it in his mind, felt it in his bones, the prickle up his skin, and he knew he’d never felt anything worse. He’d had his arm and his eye taken. He’d been augmented down to his bones against his will when he wasn’t even yet eighteen, still a child under some tormented, twisted version of care. Yet that hadn't been it.
That hadn't been the worst thing he’d ever felt. The worst way he'd ever felt. Because in that moment, he'd have given anything...to save his everything.
Because before he had kids, before he had friends, before he had the labs, before all of that...he'd had Etho. And that had already made it unbearable enough.
{In which Doc has a nightmare, Etho is right there, and there are a lot of bad memories...but none could ever deny that they were broken and bent and built for each other.}
