The first words Ben Solo ever spoke to her were “Marry me,” and his dazed, deep voice (for he had just been damn near buried under a display of fig crackers while trying to grab the last cauliflower pizza crusts from the freezer and- somehow- hitting his head on the case lip) had snatched at Rey’s guarded heart with unexpected ferocity.
Probably, some part of her acknowledged as she held a cold compress to his head, because she had always been drawn to anything and anyone whose broken parts were on full display.

In addition to his expertise in Italian literature, Rey thinks her LinkedIn rec should read, Professor Solo has an absolutely filthy mouth and given the opportunity, I would greatly enjoy coming on it.Her eyes drop to his lips, and she examines them closely, not for the first time. He has a wide, well-defined bow in his upper lip, with his lower lip being just slightly fuller. It often protrudes, making him look slightly sad. She thinks about nipping at that pert lower lip, testing its firmness with her teeth and tongue.
Just then, his tongue emerges to lick the lip she’d been focused on, and she starts to wonder about his tongue, too. Stop staring, she tells herself. He’ll notice.
The beautiful, supple lips start moving. He’s speaking.
“…Either way, it might be nice to stay in touch,” he’s saying when she finally snaps out of her mouth-induced trance.
