Summary
The Squid dies with a drowned screech that transcends human hearing, sinking through a plume of black ink. Any leftover ringing from cannon fire doesn’t do much to hide the unsettling silence that creeps up on them all as the waves settle low and the Goromaru stops rocking. The ink bleeds outwards until black turns grey, then finally blue again.
And still, Majima doesn’t breach the surface of the water.
Fuck that. Saejima is not about to lose his kyoudai to this damned ocean for a second time.
