“Oi, Deku!”
Izuku pauses and looks back because of course he does. Because he’s stupid and weak and hopeful. Because he doesn’t really want to give up on Kaccan. He never has.
“This is your one shot,” Kacchan says, harsh red gaze boring into him. “Once I leave, I’m in the wind, and you’ll never get any justice.”
At that, Izuku makes a strangled sound, caught somewhere between a laugh and a sob.
“What the hell am I supposed to do?” Izuku is crying now, ugly little tears dripping down his face. “I’m just one person. What could I possibly do to fix this?”
“Fuck, Deku,” Kacchan sighs before placing a hand on Izuku’s shoulder and slouching to put them at eye-level. “Where’s your goddamn fight? You always said you wanted to be a hero. What the hell do you have to lose that you haven’t lost already?” -

“Maybe.” At the very least their bickering seems to work as a decent distraction from Kacchan's broken leg, the thrill of an argument bringing color back to Kacchan’s cheeks. “But I also didn’t overshoot my way clear across a roof.”
“Fuck you,” Kacchan spits. “It was icy.”
“And?”

“Doing my job?” Izuku smiles, soft, with a playful tilt to his head.

Summary
Is that the kind of person Robby thinks he is? Someone who would cheat? It’s strangely hurtful. If Robby had reached out and punched him in the ribs it might’ve been less painful than the ache he feels in his chest right now. Thou shalt not commit adultery. He doesn’t think you need to be Christian to know that’s one of the big ones. Not that Dennis is so religious anymore, but– he’s a good person. He likes to think he is, anyway.
Dennis stares at Robby, swaying lightly, and says, “Wait you– what, you think I’m dating Amy and sleeping with you?”
The day before Robby's sabbatical, he and Dennis have a misunderstanding.

Summary
When Whitaker finds out that Dr. Robby has been riding to work without a helmet, he begins to suspect Robby isn’t planning to come back from his sabbatical. Robby all but confirms it when he hands over the keys to his house.
After Whitaker calls Robby’s bluff and calls in the cavalry (i.e. Abbot and Dana) to stop him from hurting himself, he has no idea what the future holds. Worse, if Robby will ever speak to him again.
Or: Slow burn Hucklerobby getting-together fic, starting after the events of s2e09 “3:00 PM” and diverging from there. Featuring angst, yearning, Jack Abbot being Dr. Robby’s unlicensed therapist, Trinity Santos doing her best, and gratuitous references to the great state of Nebraska.
