"Forget the tree," Ranpo announced from his desk, spinning his chair around. He was already wearing a Santa hat over his usual cap and had a precarious stack of colorful boxes on his lap. "The President promised that if we finished the morning briefing, we could open the gifts from the client in the Ginza district. They sent high-end chocolate. Dazai, if you don't get up, I’m eating your share."
"You can have it, Ranpo-san," Dazai waved a hand dismissively, letting the newspaper slide into his lap.
The realization hit him like a delayed physical blow. The date on the corner of his ignored computer screen glared back at him: December 24th.

“Chuuya,” Dazai insists, ignoring him. “Truth or Dare?”
Chuuya stares at him incredulously for a few seconds, frozen still, before letting out a sigh. “Dare,” he says, inevitably giving in, because this is the only way they know how to communicate, the only way they learned how to.
Droplets of warm blood continue to trickle down Dazai’s throat, dagger cold against his skin, and Dazai lets out a slow breath. “Kill me.”

Summary
"Don't go back to sleep," Dazai says, and there is a surprising hint of demand in his voice. Chuuya feels something at the end of the bed sag, signifying Dazai has finally sat down, for whatever reason he does anything.
"Wasn't gonna," Chuuya grunts. His head is swimming, and he can't think. "But why?"
He hears an intake of breath from Dazai's direction, and shifts to try and see his silhouette in the dark. "Chuuya," says Dazai, suddenly serious. "You were trying to activate Corruption in your sleep."
