The room looks different in the daylight, but still the same, the same smell, the same sounds, creaking wooden floors, creaking wooden bed frame. In his shoulder, an ache where the arrow struck, just under his collarbone. In his chest, a racing heart, acknowledging its near miss. Acknowledging this new, fresh hit.
