It was meant to be an easy challenge. A quick pop in to a nearly-Twilight-class Darkness for a high-value reward. Kim Soleum did not anticipate Braun to be counted as a participant.

He needs to return to his apartment, and his job, and his life, but the prospect is terrifying; everything that was once him is everything he can't allow himself to be ever again. Kim helps him make the transition, and Harry pines wildly over him. They eat food and talk about the homo-sexual underground. Harry tries not to cry a lot.

The point here is Tommy doesn’t purposely cause trouble, really, trouble just finds him. He honestly doesn’t mean to go tripping over the random body laying on the ground in the woods. It was just there. And no one can blame him for that one.

Before he could finish his sentence, Tallulah practically slammed into him. She was half off the bed so she could reach him, shoving her face into his chest and grabbing the back of his sweater like he was the only thing she could trust right now.
Oh. He was pretty sure he knew what this was.
“Hey,” he said softly, wrapping his arms around her and moving to sit on the edge of her bed. “Did you have a nightmare?”
Her small shoulders shook as she nodded, the front of his sweater quickly becoming damp as she sniffled into it.
“Oh honey,” he whispered, his heart squeezing as he hugged her closer. “It’s okay. It was just a dream. It wasn’t real.”
