Cole Cassidy, as it turns out, is a long-time friend of Genji. He was there when they brought him near death into an early Overwatch, probably saw him get built back up from a chewed-out husk of a man into something new, something… different. Cassidy saw him turn from a deadly weapon into a deadlier one, got to see him built and unbuilt, got to know him long enough to figure out what it means when the green lights lining his armour dim, when the vents at the junctures of his shoulders release air, when the internal processes of his suit kick up in a whir. What the different angles of his head tilts mean, the approximate facial expressions he is making under the visor. How much of him is left under the metal plates, made anew, and unmade again.
It is only natural, then, that Cole Cassidy wants Hanzo dead.

The sharpness of the last word cuts through McCree worse than anything in recent memory, making his skin crawl. The aura surrounding Hanzo is equally as scary, scarier than many of the Alphas that McCree regularly encounters. Omega or not, these conditions are miserable and unhealthy, and he knows they’ve probably been this way for several days already. They don’t have all day to figure this out.
“I understand that, pumpkin, I do,” he says softly. “But believe me when I say that wastin’ away in a cell ain’t a fun way to go.” He hums when Hanzo turns a wrinkled nose up at the well-intentioned pet name.
“Do not call me that.”
“Well, what should I call ya then?”
“Just call me an Omega like every other filthy, braindead Alpha does.”
In a dystopian Western world where Omegas are a rare commodity following the societal collapse, an Alpha Cole "McCree" Cassidy happens across an Omega Hanzo being trafficked alongside other Omegas.
