The apartment was dark. Only the occasional reflected light from the traffic outside intruded, making racing streaks across the patterned paper and memories that littered the wall. It didn’t need to be dark. He could have been sitting there with a light on, contemplating how in hell he had ended up in this situation, but that would run the electric bill up and provide a comfort the imp didn’t feel like he deserved at the moment. So instead, Blitzø was sitting in his dark apartment, head in his hands, going over how fucked up his evening had gotten. He had double checked his calendars, his reminders, all of his horse sticky notes. Nowhere had there been a reminder of any important events, no anniversaries. Why in heaven had Stolas snapped at him like that?

It seemed quite evident to Stolas that Blitzø was losing his mind. The imp was vivacious naturally, but in the weeks leading up to Sinsmas, he had not stopped moving even once that Stolas could remember. Even when the owl had woken up in the night from the sudden blaring of life outside the apartment, Blitzø was either already up and moving or tossing and turning. Stolas felt a pit in his stomach grow each day as it filled with the anxiety he was pushing down. What was causing his dearest such distress?
