On the topic of sticky notes, there was a new one on his desk with a poorly drawn candle on it… attached to a small cake in a clear container. Could it be…? No, Coworker would never do that. Maybe Protagonist had gotten someone else’s cake after all.
Considering that Protag was born on February 29 and he works in a company where he's nothing but an asset, birthdays have definitely lost their significance over the years. That is, until an anonymous person leaves a cake on his desk.
