Summary
The worst thing about suddenly breaking mind control is that it leaves you absolutely stunned for some time, without the ability to think clearly.
Loki learns it the hard way in Stuttgart, when he gets hit on the head during the fight and breaks free of the mind link with Thanos and the Other.
Suddenly, he’s on his own, totally alone and surrounded by enemies. And he realises that - for the first time in his life - he has no plan whatsoever and is unable to even think of one.
So he does the only possible thing - he acts on instinct to get out of the situation and buy himself more time. And if the side effect is getting stuck with the most annoying and absurdly talkative Midgardian so-called superhero, well… that’s something he can handle without any problems, right? 😉

Summary
This was supposed to be one smutty fic... yet, the God of Stories residing temporarily in my head decided otherwise. 😂
So here we are - starting a series set in a bit alternative universe, in which the invasion of New York didn't happen and Loki is simply an "Earth resident villain", much more troublesome and mischievous than "evil" or vengeful.
...And that one crazy night of fun he had with Tony Stark seems to be much more consequential than any of them would expect...
(The title comes from the song "Break the Rules" by Sinplus.)

Summary
The Avengers are definitely not the kind of people who ask too many unnecessary questions.
Even if they were wondering about Loki's strange disappearance, his equally inexplicable return or why his pranks started to be much less violent and destructive all of the sudden - none of them said it out loud.
Everyone is satisfied with this status quo - they can finally focus more on some other potential threats and dangers, and the occasional battles against the mischievous god have become more of a pleasant sparring than anything else.
(No, it’s not a good idea to ask about the reasons - let's just enjoy it as long as possible.)
But there's this thing, you know: every status quo can end sooner or later.
And every best-laid plan of heroes and villains can go awry.
