After Gandharva Ville is attacked, Collei must spend a few weeks living in Alhaitham's house in Sumeru City. It's not what she's used to, but sometimes that's what someone needs to grow.

“I didn’t want to wake you—” Chan cuts himself off, hand flexing around the biosync, grooves digging into his palm. “Turn you on. I didn’t want to turn you on at all.”
Felix’s brows lift, a minute shift that makes his face seem more animated. “Then perhaps you’d like to explain why I’m standing here,” he gestures to the room, then to Chan, “taking part in this oh-so-stimulating conversation?”
“State-sanctioned corporate blackmail.”
Felix is unimpressed by this answer.
Chan has spent three years in a seclusion pod when the system sends him Felix, an android designed to keep him company. Or to keep him from killing himself. Chan isn’t entirely sure what the truth is, but he knows better than to trust anything they give him, doesn’t he?

Kaveh’s exasperated tone is more familiar; it beckons for an answer, to continue Kaveh and Alhaitham’s usual song and dance. However, Alhaitham’s mind is blank. No, that is not entirely accurate, it’s more like his mind is too full, thoughts overlapping each other until they create an incoherent cacophony.
I already see you as my equal.
You challenge me in ways nobody else can.
I would not be me without you.
“We’re not lovers,” is what Alhaitham settles on. “So you have no need to prove yourself. Get some sleep.”
Kaveh is under the impression that he and Alhaitham are dating, but Alhaitham doesn't seem to be on the same page. Now Alhaitham is forced to rethink the nature of their relationship.
