Summary
And the cycle begins again—meet, fight, lose, trip, wake up, leave, train, meet. Rinse and repeat. Feet kicking up dirt, bones cracking, blood spilling. Zanka giving everything he has, giving so much he wants to lay down and cry, and Jabber. Laughing. Laughing. Always too fast, always too tough, always too strong for Zanka to actually nail a meaningful blow on. No matter what tricks he and Assistaff pull out of the hat, it’s never enough.
It’s never enough.
Zanka can’t count the amount of scars Jabber’s given him. He doubts Jabber can say the same. Assistaff’s spikes move fast, and but not fast enough to seriously pin Jabber down. Like all that “knock me on my ass, Bad Attitude!” talk is just him bullshitting so that he can see the look on Zanka’s face when he refuses to just lay down and take it.

There’s a lot that Zanka doesn’t understand.
He doesn’t understand the Sphere. Period. Not much more to say there.
He doesn’t understand how Rudo can eat so many candies in one go and not make himself sick.
He doesn’t understand why he keeps going back to Jabber, and he doesn’t understand why Jabber keeps doing the same thing.
And mostly, at the moment, he doesn’t understand how he’s found himself pinning Jabber’s hands to the wall of the crumbling old warehouse they’ve been sparring in for the last couple months.
| Or, Zanka realizes Jabber's weakness and now they have a new past time.

Summary
Zanka knew himself; He was an average, run of the mill guy. He wasn’t an exceptional fighter, no natural born talent, no prodigy or genius. Perhaps part of him sought normalcy when he realized he couldn’t be extraordinary.
Now, staring at Jabber beneath him, writhing in pain with half-lidded eyes lit aglow, he felt that part of him seep away like blood pouring down a drain.

Summary
The challenge is simple: Anyone who can get the tassel off the cat's neck will be granted the hand of its witch, Zanka Nijiku.
Jabber has no interest in marrying some stuck-up witch, no matter how pretty he may be. What he does want, though, is access to a certain witch's garden, and the poisons within. And if the only way in was getting that snooty cat on his side, he could make nice long enough for that. He'd always been a cat person anyway. How hard could it be?

Summary
Zanka knew that carrying out a relationship with a Raider as a Cleaner would be complicated. He knew he'd have to be careful. More than careful. He'd have to be perfect- no matter what, no one could find out about the truth. Not when he knew what the consequences would be.
Naturally, he slips up anyways, accidentally mentioning Jabber's name at HQ, and it’s all over.
Except its not. Because there's good news and bad news.
The good news was that Zanka hadn't actually said Jabber's name. Instead, he'd said a nickname. A nickname that nobody knew referred to Jabber.
The bad news was that now all the Cleaners thought that Zanka had a girlfriend named Abby, and if he wanted to keep his job, his family, and his relationship with Jabber, he was going to have to keep up the charade.
What could go wrong?

Zanka's getting real sick of Jabber having the upper hand. No matter the occasion, no matter what area, the Raider always seemed to be one step ahead. And it seemed like it was going to stay that way.
At least, until a strange encounter reveals one of Jabber's potential weaknesses. Gentle affection.
This was Zanka's chance. He could finally get one over on Jabber. If it weren't for one tiny problem. Zanka's own weakness: these strange, soft feelings he's been having for Jabber.
But it's fine. All he has to do is suppress them, squish them down. Out of sight, out of mind. He was going to get a win against Jabber, a win that counted.
You see, in spite of everything, Zanka hasn't exactly learned to stop being arrogant.
It'd be fine. He can do this. Jabber won't ever have to know about these feelings.

Jabber had a good handle on things. He knew what he wanted. He knew how to get it. And recently, he knew what Zanka wanted. And he knew that he really wanted him to accomplish that (beating the hell outta Jabber). So when he wants to see Zanka laughing his head off without a care in the world, he decides the new toxin he's come across is perfect for their next fight.
But that's not exactly how it happens. Because Jabber Wonger is a scientist that doesn't like to follow all the rules.
And when the consequence of that ends up being him having to trip sit a very clingy, overly affectionate Zanka?
Well, he's not gonna regret it now.
This is not gonna permenantely affect him at all. He'll be fine. He can handle it.

For a so-called "average" guy, Zanka seemed to have a lot of secrets. The most concerning of which pertained to a suspicious guy with a lot of piercings who kept lurking around the research lab after hours.

A modern au in which Zanka and Jabber are professionals in their respective scientific fields, and have a reputation for being bitter rivals who are constantly publishing research papers trying to disprove the others findings.
They've also been secretly married for 6 years.
Rudo —a graduate student and one of Zanka's lab assistants at the University— somehow gets caught in the middle of it all.

It took all Zanka’s strength to not loudly groan of displeasure. She settled for another deep sigh.
“Jabber.”
“Herself !” laughed Jabber, jumping on one foot to the other, overjoyed.
This time, she was wearing a coat. Zanka felt a strange feeling of disappointment along with her relief and decided to ignore them both.
“What do you want this time ?”
“Good question ! Well, first of I want to study you oh, and maybe even dissect you, why not.”
Zanka’s heart stopped in her chest. She slowly turned her tired gaze toward Jabber, looking at her with nothing but confusion. Jabber just stood there on her fucking porch, bare foot, smiling innocently like she didn’t say something utterly absurd right about now.
“… What ?”

Zanka Nijiku, an exhausted office worker with an uneventful life, has a new crazy neighbor, wants her BAD and is mad about it. Jabber Wonger just moved in a new appartment and is obsessed with her neighbor. At the end of the day, they match each other freak.
