Armand teases as Daniel snaps out of his thoughts. They both have this bad habit of getting lost in their own consciousness, and while Armand would say it’s something they both need to work on, Daniel’s simply cross that Armand can read his mind while Daniel’s left guessing. The bright side of this ordeal is that Daniel’s mental tangents can easily become a new subject of conversation. What’s more is because Daniel’s mind never stops turning, the broadcast always tuned to some station or the other, no matter the hour, he and Armand never run out of things to talk about.

It’s a shameful thing to confess, knowing that he had desired him from the very, very beginning.
Yes, the shame was particularly exquisite, knowing that he had hungered after one so pitiably young-looking. When he had pretended to be merely a coy, harmless manservant, giving Daniel playful looks across the room. Daniel had been disgusted with himself. He had been repulsed by the reactions of his filthy mind and aged flesh. It had been easier to remain passive-aggressive and strive for an annoyed face anytime the other spoke, than to avow that he secretly fantasised about bending him over and fucking him face-down like a whore.
