The quiet hum of the air conditioning is the only sound in the room for a while. Eventually, a very confused Jonathan speaks up.
“What?”
“I know how it sounds, Jonathan. But the cops also explained that there's these… fans… of those movies. Like, crazy ones. And the cops think that, for whatever reason, someone is trying to make a real life version of the Stab movies.”
“So… let me get this straight.” Vickie leans forward. “There's a killer in Hawkins, obsessed with horror movies from thirty years ago, who wants to reenact the murders of said movies with our friend group?”
“Yeah, pretty much. That's how the movie starts.” Nancy purses her lips. “And they're not being subtle.”
