Jax’s hands squeezed the edges of the sink so harshly he was shaking. Everything around him was numb and mumbled compared to the chaos of sounds and words in his head. Of Pomni screaming at him, throwing a gun at him. And him still unable to just take the conversation seriously.
“God, you look stupid.” A voice called out in a half-stifled chuckle.
Jax’s head snapped to the mirror. Eyes blown wide, heart dropping to his stomach. The last time he had seen this face he was staring at a door with a red X across it.
