Techno wakes up to the sound of someone knocking on his door.
Sighing, brushing long hair out of his eyes, he grips the door’s handle with soft grip, turning it slowly, even as his hands shivered from the chill; he should have put on gloves. As he turns the knob, he rests a couple fingers on his sword’s handle, comfortably prepared. Just in case.
He soon realizes that a sword will hardly be necessary.
Because it’s Dream out there.

Summary
Sam will visit today.
He had thrown his clock into the lava, what must have been an hour prior - it was hard to keep track of time when Do Not Burn was, well, burned. He needed his clock, he needed to hear the tick, tick, tick that simultaneously shatters and repairs his mind, but- he needs the warden more. When the clocks burned, it means a few hours of clawing at the walls until his fingernails cracked and bled and softly mimicking the ticking sound to himself to give himself a small bit of comfort as he’s dragged deeper and deeper into spirals, but it also means a few seconds, maybe even a full conversation, on his luckiest days, with the warden.
He’d throw away a thousand clocks if it meant so much as a brush of Sam’s fingers against his arm.
