Summary
В глухой деревне на самом краю мира совершено ритуальное убийство – ужасающее событие, ведь ни великий Прародитель, ни Незримая с изнанки не принимают кровавых жертв. Из главного города присылают отряд ищеек, стражей порядка, — им приказано найти и покарать убийцу, что осквернил имена божеств подношением с особой жестокостью.
Жители деревни с нетерпением ждут правосудия, но ещё больше желают, чтобы с видного места наконец убрали окоченелый труп. Сильнее всех того хочет Варёнка, невзрачная подавальщица в местной таверне, которую запах крови преследует и буквально сводит с ума. Вот только с приездом сыщиков жизнь Варёнки только ухудшится – ведь Гярзу, ищейка из специального отряда Карающего Прута, затмевает для неё весь мир ароматом пышущей, горячей жизни.
Пока Гярзу и сыщики идут по следу, Варёнка противится зову крови – и не сдерживается, всё же пробуя её на вкус...

Kaveh runs a hand down his bumpy arms. “You’re shivering.”
That Al-Haitham knows.
“Are you cold?” Kaveh asks.
Al-Haitham isn’t sure. There’s a sticky-hot discomfort near his legs, where they’ve been under his heavy blanket all day. But from his waist up, he trembles, something missing. All he knows for sure is that he wants Kaveh to be here, to feel it.
“I’m cold,” he replies, his voice coming out as a whine.
Or: In the wake of the Interdarshan Championship, Al-Haitham dreams that Kaveh has already left, leaving his home empty without him. He wakes up in a sweat, Kaveh sees that he is taken care of.

Illuga turned a bright shade of pink, and his eyes scurried away towards the floor. “Ah— No offence taken, but no. What… what gave you that impression?”
Alhaitham snorted. Kaveh smacked him from under the table.
“Oh, my mistake then.”
“He was very obviously flirting with you,” Alhaitham added. “But it seems that might just be his personality.”
