Patrick did indeed throw it. It was a beautiful shot, magnificently arching through the air and landing with a satisfying smash through the window right next door.
For a second neither of them can do anything, then Joe's unthrown brick lands with a solid thump on the toe of Patrick's Converse, and in lieu of beating the shit out of him, Patrick becomes fully confident he can explain the panic away.
“Maybe they’re still sleeping… or maybe that’s just another window into her apartment?” Joe very politely ignores the shrill edge creeping into Patrick’s voice. “Yeah, that’s totally it! It’s still her window!”
Long story very short; it is most definitely not her window.
