Something tugs in the center of his chest. He should be angry, furious at his brother for trying to do something to screw him over, even after years of not speaking. He’s been doing the same since they were kids, using Ilya as a scapegoat to slip out of his responsibilities and consequences for his own actions. Doing this - getting a woman pregnant that isn’t his wife and claiming it’s Ilya who has done it - is just something else to add to the list.
Instead he just looks at the picture of this tiny little boy and wonders if he’ll have freckles.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Ian and Mickey!
Thank you for coming to read my celebration fic for them making it through the first year. Unfortunatly, things are a bit rough and Ian is dealing with a post-holiday depressive episode leading up to their first anniversary. As he's coming out of it he discovers Mickey's wedding planner notebook which gives him an idea. The boys have also discovered the Five Love Languages and are working on giving each other what they need.
Honestly, this was supposed to be a light and fluffy read for their one year anniversary but Ian would not stop letting me know what he needed. I promise you light and fluffy in part three of this series.

“Who are you?” the newcomer grunts, gaze trailing up and down Hans’ body.
Oh. Now that’s a question he hasn’t heard in… a while.
“You don’t know who I am?” he blurts out, unable to hold his surprise back.
The blacksmith removes a glove and wipes his forehead on the sleeve of a rundown, simple shirt.
“Should I?”
Well, that’s an obvious answer but… Hans takes a look at himself. His clothes are fine, yes, but not leagues more than a wealthy merchant’s, or a noble passing through town. He also hasn’t washed in two days, and his hair must be an incomprehensible mess. He will count himself lucky if he doesn’t have straw stuck in there.
“Uh…”
Only then does he notice just how clear the blacksmith’s eyes are. They blink, without ever moving away from Hans, awaiting an answer.
He doesn’t know what possesses him to say:
“I’m Hans.”--
There is a new blacksmith in Rattay and Hans Capon, having deserted his duties as a lord, has nothing better to do than bother him, watch him work and feed him kolaches, in no particular order. If he pretends to be a filthy commoner while he does so, and Henry buys it, it shall not be used as any measure of either their intelligence.

Aaron sighs through his nose and turns his gaze back towards the front, raises an eyebrow in curiosity when he sees the twitch of unease in Robert’s almost photoshoot perfect grin as he takes Lawrence’s hand and squeezes tight.
“I give it six months before he’s caught shagging one of the salesgirls over his desk.” Mack murmurs to him from the corner of his mouth; Aaron snorts and tilts his head in further towards him.
