“Honestly I was kind of hoping your consciousness would just click back into your body once I touched you.” Shane scratches the back of his head.
You treat me like slap bracelet, Ilya complains.
After a bad hit knocks Ilya’s consciousness out of his body — literally — Shane finds himself sheltering the soul of his decade-long situationship in the back of his head. Turns out it’s a lot harder to keep secrets when you share a body.

John Cook: Hollander keeps possession of the puck as Rozanov checks Cameron out of Hollander's way, and... Hollander scores! What a beaut of a goal that was!
Patrick Colt: [laughing] I don’t think the opposition know what to do with themselves against Rozanov and Hollander.
[Ilya Rozanov skates round to where Shane Hollander is standing. Hollander has a wide grin on his face after the recent goal.
Rozanov collides into Hollander, hugging him jokily and leaning to plant a wet his on Hollander’s helmet. However, at the last second, Hollander turns to look at Rozanov.
Their lips meet in a kiss.
The two break apart instantly and stare at each other in horror.]
Jack Saad: Oh. That’s… Hmm.
John Cook: [spluttering] Erm-
Patrick Colt: [faintly] Huh. Well. That’s not something you see everyday.

Hayden didn’t recognize the woman Shane was talking to. She was younger, must have been a rookie’s girl. She had her phone shoved between her breasts, using her bra like a purse, the way so many women did.
Hayden heard her ask if Shane had someone there, and Shane sounded maudlin and wasted as he said, “I’ve been in a situationship for five and a half years. If I could have one wish in the whole wide world, my situationship would be here. Situationships don’t come to after-parties, they just leave you feeling broken and sad and… We won the Cup.”
Shane never, ever acknowledged that “Boston Lily” was as much as a friend, let alone a situationship… and five and a half years… that was back before rookie year. That was before the draft.

Shane gets alcohol poisoning while celebrating winning the Cup. A video gets on the internet. Ilya comes to rescue him.
