Really, it would just be so much easier to ignore the others’ remarks. To walk away when Nagito was trying to get a rise out of him, he’d done so with others before. He’s avoided conflict numerous times, knew when to not take the obvious bait.
But something was different with the lucky student. He couldn’t place his finger on it, but the idea of not entertaining their little feud seemed—impossible.
There was something about Nagito that demanded his attention, for better or for worse.
Mostly the latter.

If you read the words “Pregame Saiouma” and think, “Oh god no,” this is for you. If you read the same thing and think, “Absolutely yes,” this might also be for you. This is basically a meta satire/parody of the pregame saiouma genre. Of course, I mean no offense to any of the authors whose stories make up the inspiration of this. I’ve always wanted to write something that picks at common tropes while still being written seriously, and we all know how tropey this genre is. Also, despite the unconventional nature of this story, this is still kind of a romance. Enjoy! Please note that the introduction of the story is fairly typical. Just stay along for the ride.
