The path is covered in leaves. There are weird stains under the leaflitter. It crunches under her feet. She climbs up the hill, calling her name.
She finds her lying on her mother’s grave. There’s blood on her feet, on her legs, on her arms, on her hands.
There’s a rusty-red handprint on her mother’s headstone, the little vase knocked on its side. The flower, a purple hyacinth, looks withered, its petals stained red and broken.
There’s so much blood. Her heart lurches in her chest and a scream tears itself from her throat.

“Celine, are you here to pick up Rumi”? Mrs. Nari latched onto Celine, relief flooding through her face.
Every single parent in front of the daycare snapped their attention to Celine. Celine wished in that moment, for the first time in her life, that she could be a demon. She wanted to teleport inside, grab her Rumi and go.
“So you are are HER parent”? Mira’s mother snarled, her fist clamped tight over Mira’s tiny hand.
Zoey hid deeper into her mother’s skirt.
“Yes. I am here to pick up my daughter. Now where is she”?

Celine is trying her best to raise a half demon three year old, but Rumi behaves more like a full demon. That's fine for Celine since she's a demon hunter and is able to keep up with Rumi's antics, but a normal daycare? She doesn't think they can handle her. Too bad, she has no other choice and has to leave Rumi for a day. Unfortunately for her the daycare she chose also houses Mira Kotadoski, a wonderfully behaved girl from a mommy vlog channel and Zoey who is just a little angel. They aren't going to be able to handle Rumi or that kid "Baby" who Celine knows is a demon.

The hiatus was supposed to be simple, it was supposed to be fun! Instead, when a new breed of demon attempts to attack HUNTR/X, Mira jokes and the demon takes her request a little too literally. Throwing the trio into a void and displacing them by 26 years, to a time when the Sunlight Sisters were at the peak of their popularity.
Maybe the Saja Boys were just proving that history repeats itself.
