Summary
"You're really just gonna sit there and act like it didn't happen," he mutters.
Eddie looks up at him, a small fond smile on his face that's reserved only for Buck.
"I'm going to marry you someday," Eddie murmurs. "Do you want French toast?"
Buck nearly chokes on his coffee. There was no way he heard that correctly…right?
"Uh," he splutters. "What did you just say?"
"Do you want French toast?"
"Before that," Buck clarifies.
"Oh." Eddie's smile only grows wider. "I'm going to marry you someday."

Buck looks over, the rim of his eyes red and his bottom lip stuck in a permanent pout since he found Eddie earlier.
“I’m sorry Eddie, I’m trying to keep it together.” Buck says, sucking a large breath in. “You should not have to be comforting me right now.”
Eddie shakes his head immediately. His eyes tear up, for what feels like the millionth time in the last hour. “You’re allowed to feel this, Buck. I don’t want you to be strong right now.”
He looks down at their hands, composure quickly falling. “This is our pain, Buck. Please… feel it with me.”
or: in the aftermath of Chris getting kidnapped, Eddie reaches for Buck.

Summary
As Eddie drives away to Texas to see his son, he realizes that half of his heart is in El Paso, but the other half is with Buck in LA, getting smaller in his rear-view mirror.
“Eddie?! Did you forget something?,” Buck asked, sitting up quickly and wiping the tears from his eyes onto the sleeve of Eddie’s hoodie.
“Yeah, I did.”
“Can I help you find it?”
“You’re right here,” Eddie said softly, blinking tears out of his own eyes.
