“ ... suddenly Zach was pulling him into a hug — rough, celebratory, entirely platonic — and Justin let himself have it. Let himself burrow in against his chest for just a moment, inhaling the scent of him: sandalwood and bergamot from his aftershave, and something else that was inherently Zach.
He let his hand find a home around Zach’s arm as though he was allowed that touch, and laughed at Zach's excitement.
"We won!" Zach said, still watching the replay.
Justin stayed pressed against his side, one hand resting on Zach's thigh because the vodka had made him brave and stupid. Or maybe just stupid. He could feel the muscle beneath the denim, solid and warm. He tried not to think about those powerful thighs holding him down. Definitely just stupid.
His fingers traced an absent pattern.
Just tonight. Just this once. Tomorrow I'll go back to being careful. ”
When Zach asks to crash at Justin's place for a few weeks, Justin knows he should say no. He's spent a decade carefully managing his feelings for his straight best friend. Three weeks of close proximity might just break him.

Harry hates him. He hates how close he stands to Malfoy, how highly he thinks of himself, how he insists on holding Malfoy’s shoulder every time they walk into a room.
Really, Harry thinks. He’s the one who defeated the evilest of the evil. He could do a far better job of protecting him than a self-absorbed, shiny-haired prick like that.
