Summary
"You're... you're such a jerk," the older Will panted, his eyes fluttering shut, his hands coming up to grip the older Mike’s forearms, though he wasn't pushing him away. If anything, he was pulling him closer.
The older Mike leaned down, his lips brushing against the shell of the older Will’s ear. "Am I?" he whispered, the audio catching the low, gravelly vibration of his voice.
Or:
In the summer of 1989, a video store appears overnight in Hawkins, one no one remembers.
Inside, Mike and Will find a tape labeled with their names, dated years in the future.
When they watch it, they realize it isn’t a movie, it’s them.
But the signal is fragile, only steadying when they are touching; to keep the future from dissolving into static, they must maintain constant physical contact.Bookmarked by touperine

Summary
“What?”, Will huffs, shaking his head in disbelief. “You know blue does not only equate sadness, right? It is one of the blatantly obvious meanings, sure, but it can also imply tranquility, loyalty, trust, peace, and—"
Shut up, shut up, shut up, the voice in his head screams by now, but one cannot interrupt Will in the middle of one of his art rants. Impossible. No chance. “And with the vastness of the sky or sea, blue is also often associated with distance, longing, yearning, and— stuff.”
“Distance”, Mike echoes, and only then does Will truly understand what he has just admitted into the air freely, completely unprovoked and voluntarily. “Longing. Yearning.”
Obviously, this is the exact moment Robert Smith decides to sing about the fact that it is Friday, and that he is very much in love.
Five times Mike distracts Will from his art assignments with his stupidly flirtatious ways, and one time Will actually needs his help to complete a coursework.

Summary
“Why can't you just love me, Mike?!” Will shouted through the tears. He grabbed his shirt, squeezing it with all his might. “You keep giving me these mixed signals...” He cried so hard that his head hurt. Or maybe it was the alcohol?
“Will?” Mike stood motionless, as if spellbound. He felt his hands begin to tremble and his chest tighten with discomfort.
“It hurts. It hurts so bad...” Hot tears glistened on Will's cheeks. “That day in the rain, you said it's not your fault I don't like girls. But, it is!”
The party drinks alcohol for the first time, and Will can no longer keep his feelings under control.
