Summary
Kevin is used to pain. Used to the burn in his lungs, the ache in his shoulders, the sharp bite of muscles pushed past what they were ever meant to endure. Pain is familiar. Pain is controllable. Pain is the price of excellence Kevin has always paid without hesitation.
But this pain was another beast. It isn’t the clean pain of impact or the manageable throb of overuse. This pain was bright, blinding, catastrophic. It’s a lightning strike that starts in his lower back and radiates outward. Down his legs. Up his neck. Sharp enough to steal his thoughts.
Andrew drops to a crouch, hands hovering helplessly. His face is pale, eyes holding barely concealed terror. “Don’t move,” he says quickly. “The medics are coming.”
Kevin swallows hard. “I- I can’t,” he admits, the words tearing out of him before he can stop them. His voice shakes. He hates that. “My back-”

Summary
"I think there's something wrong with me," Kevin blurted out, barely seeing Abby as he scanned the room for threats. "I—I can't sleep, I can't eat. Abby, I can't play. I don't know what's happening to me."
"Kevin," Abby's eyes softened. "You're hurt. You're trying to recover."
"No… No. That's not it. I was thinking, I think I know what's wrong."
"Okay, how about we go sit down in the living room and talk about it?" Abby tried, but Kevin couldn't hear her.
"I think it's me," Kevin realized with a clarity he hadn't had in over a week. "I'm what's wrong. It's always been me."
It wouldn't be a stretch to call Kevin Day broken—not in his current condition. Without Exy, he was nothing, and he knew it. But, call it hope or delusion, Kevin needed to get back on the court. He had two choices: Stay at Palmetto State University, or die. It's quite simple, really. Except it gets infinitely harder when Andrew Minyard refuses to let him stay.
Or, the art of making a deal with one Andrew Minyard.
A pre-AFTG ficlet depicting Kevin's life settling into South Carolina after a decade by Riko's side.

Summary
Sasha was focused on what she knew of Josten and Day, trying to place the information she had in some form of order that made sense.
Every interaction of the strikers was added to her puzzle pieces - not that they were making any sense, be it separately or together.
Josten and Day were the frightening duo they were known as on the court but even off the court, they stuck together. They were friendly enough with most everyone else but it was Day who tossed Josten an electrolyte drink, Josten who taped up Day’s calf, and the two of them who arrived and left together every day without fail.
or: Chicago's newest dealer sub hyper-focuses on teammate Kevin Day and gets more than she bargained for.
