Summary
After their dad abandons the family and their mom is killed in a car crash, fourteen year old Chris is essentially orphaned and put into the custody of his twenty-two year old brother, who has become more and more estranged from them since leaving home. Martin, his head spinning with grief and guilt from knowing now that the estrangement can never be reconciled, has to collect the little brother he’s barely seen in four years, who has turned into an angsty, wayward, heroin-addicted teenager freshly raw with his own grief.

Summary
The apocalypse happening in his lifetime was not something Stanley had ever expected. And really, as if his life didn’t already suck enough. Now the world had a new triangular dictator ruling over it, and in the chaos society had become, Stan only had three goals:
- Survive.
- Try to find Ma and Shermie.
- Avoid his now evil twin brother who had apparently been the one to enable the whole weirdmageddon thing to begin with.
Number three was turning out to be the most difficult. Having become Bill’s right-hand man, Ford had gone and broadcast Stan’s name and face world-wide, right alongside a hefty reward for Stan’s successful capture. The fact that he was wanted alive wasn’t reassuring. Knowing Ford’s ability to hold a grudge, Stan figured it couldn’t mean anything good for him.
And he had a sinking feeling he was going to find out sooner than he’d like.

“And why should I-” Ford begins to say, anger building ever hotter, before somehow Stanley manages to shock Ford once again. Stan reaches behind him and pushes a kid forward from where he’d apparently been hiding just out of sight.
A kid.
A child, really.
A kid who looks a little familiar. Something about the shape of his nose. It reminds Ford of his mom, in a way. And the hair reminds him of his dad. And Stanely has this kid. That is with him. Right now. On Ford’s porch in Gravity Falls.

Ford's research is interrupted by his estranged brother showing up on his doorstep with a kid who claims to be time traveller. Meanwhile in the present, Stan and Mabel try to figure out how to get Dipper back to the right time. There will be secrets revealed, old wounds readdressed, and above it all a one-eyed demon watches with interest.
