"Alastor had factored in the possibility of his little… affliction… rearing its ugly head when he had been formulating this scheme to become Vox’s prisoner. After all, he wasn’t one to rush into action without careful consideration and planning. In the end, he had decided that the merits of escaping his soul bond had outweighed any possible discomfort he would endure while under Vox’s imprisonment.
That decision had been made by a more clear-headed Alastor. One that didn’t feel like there was a railroad spike lodged in his skull.
He wished he could go back in time and strangle that version of himself."
