Sukuna's Love

Chapter 2: Sukuna’s amusement

Chapter Text

2. Sukuna’s amusement

Sukuna has now taken over the control. It's him here.

Looking lazily at this woman— Mirai. She barely held his interest.

"Tch. What is this?" His voice dripped with boredom.

His piercing gaze examined her—once, then again.

Just some human girl.

Sukuna scoffed, clearly unimpressed. "How dull."

Mirai froze.

He raised his arm slightly— ready to unleash cursed energy and swat the annoying pest..

But then, his eyes twitched barely as he looked at her.

He expected her to be trembling with fear like the rest of the weak mortals who spoke his name. Maybe cowering. Maybe glaring with hatred.

Instead—

There was a strange light in her eyes. She was… blushing?

A smirk formed on his face.— What?

A human, standing before the King of Curses, with that kind of reaction?

Now that was new.

He lowered his hand and looked— this woman seemed.. excited to see him.

He chuckled low— dark.

Pathetic.

"Are you… Ryomen Sukuna?" she asked, there was no flinch in her tone. Rather, just a confirming as if she was a postman looking for the right address.

He leaned down, lips curling in mockery. "And who gave you permission to speak, girl?"

"I am Mirai," she whispered, stepping back slightly—but her blush only deepened.

Sukuna laughed. A dry, cruel sound.

"Cute name. Shame about the creature wearing it."

She nearly stumbled.

Weak.

Entertaining.

"How did you… switch with Itadori Yuji, sir?" she met his gaze.

He blinked.

Sir?

"Polite, are we?"

He strode toward her without warning. His hand snapped up, grabbing her chin.

"You think this is a conversation?" he hissed.

Her eyes widened, but she didn’t pull away.

That was new.

"I—I was just curious!"

He barked out a laugh.

"Curiosity? That's what you’re calling this stupidity?"

Her trembling was gone. Her face was neutral now.

Just blinking at him.

Strange.

Amusing—but more annoying.

“For a moment, Sukuna almost killed her right then and there—

But instead, he grinned.

Darkly.

He was about to say something but before he could — she spoke.

"So you can switch with him whenever you want? Are you bored?" Mirai asked.

Her questions only dared to annoy the King. — his nails never leaving her cheeks.

He was enjoying this.

Humans screamed, begged, cried in his presence. Even strong sorcerers tensed when he appeared.

But this one?

She looked at him with fascination.

…Ridiculous.

"And what’s it to you, little insect? Planning to entertain me?"

"Then... if you're bored," she said carefully, "why don’t we watch a movie?"

Silence.

And then—

His fingers left the grip from her cheeks.

He laughed.

Mocking. Sharp.

"A movie?"

Did this girl think he was some bored nobleman looking for entertainment?

Mirai flinched slightly but didn’t take back her words.

Interesting.

He leaned down, voice low and dangerous.

His breath was warm against her ear—

"And what makes you think I'd waste my time with something so… foolish?"

She should be scared now,

Trembling.

Begging.

Sukuna pulled back to look.. at her,

He braced for the usual terror.

But she didn’t tremble.

Didn’t flinch.

Only stared.

Her lips didn't quiver.

Her breath didn't hitch.

She flinched—slightly.

Then met his gaze. Calm. Unwavering.

"What?" she made a low disappointed sound.

Sukuna's grin faltered—just for a second.

And then grew wider.

This little human—this fragile mortal—

Was she… not afraid?

"Then," she asked, tilting her head, "do you have other plans, sir?"

There it was again.

Sir.

He stepped closer again, eyes glinting with malice.

"How long do you plan to keep pretending you’re not terrified?"

This is… pathetic.

Sukuna’s smirk slowly grew sharper this time.

How interesting.

So she wanted to play pretend?

His lips curled cruelly.

His gaze dark with anticipation.

He couldn’t wait— to see this girl break.

To hear her scream.

To watch her beg for her life.

She was human.

Mortal.

And yet, she dared to look him in the eye.

Speak without trembling.

Mock him with politeness.

Disgusting.

He would crush her act soon.
