“ Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth. Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth. Water, LIFE. Lightn—”
KNOCK, KNOCK.
The office door slowly creaked open, and a hesitant sub-agent stuck their head in, “Agent Walker?”
“What.” Golden eyes set themselves in a glare, staring the sub-agent down with an irritable expression on his face.
The sub-agent gulped, “Get. To. The. Point. Or get out of my office,” Agent Walker leaned back in his chair, lazily raising a brow, “Well? I’m waiting.”
“Uhh… T-the Administrator requires your presence in her office.”
Agent Walker sighed, shutting down his computer and rising from his chair. He grabbed the suit jacket and slung it on as he walked out of his office, flashing a mean smirk at the sub-agent, “Well, we can’t keep the Administrator waiting, now can we?”
“N-no sir,” The sub-agent stammered.
Agent Walker gestured to the hallway, “Lead the way.”
The two Administration Agents walked in silence down the identical-looking corridors, turning corner after corner. If the two agents hadn’t been there as long as they had, they most certainly would have been lost; most new agents do get lost.
“We’re here,” The sub-agent glanced at Agent Walker from the corner of her eyes.
Agent Walker rolled his eyes, “Thank you, Agent Obvious. Now, if that’s all, you’re dismissed.”
Not bothering to see if the sub-agent left, he opened the door and walked into the smaller entrance room to the Administrator’s larger office. Heading straight for the office door, idly noting the empty secretary desk, he knocked and waited.
“Come in.”

“Agent Walker, glad to see you’re still with us.”
Bright lights blinded his eyes, and blurry figures scuttled around him like ants. The rubber table beneath him felt cool, in direct contrast to his feverish skin. It felt good.
The blurry figures became identifiable as Agents in lab coats, scientists, or whatever passed for those in the Land of Madness.
Huh. Mad scientists, hahahaha. Good one, Walker.
“That’s not the first time you’ve made that joke, Agent Walker.” He turned his head towards the voice, "It does get tiring after a while, you know.”
“Wha?” He slurred, his vision swimming, the scientist going in and out of view.
“Ahh, it seems the second round of sedatives is kicking in.” A cold hand petted his head, sending chills down his body, “Don’t worry Agent Walker, by the ti…you wak…p…rything….just fine…”
His eyes fluttered closed, so heavy, and darkness took over.

“AAAHHHHHH!”
Lighting was ripped out of him, the machine draining him and asking for more and more and more and more and ane more moremoremoremoremoremoremor—
“Agent Walker, deep breaths,” A voice spoke over the intercom in the chamber, “remember this is for the good of the Administration.”
“T-the…good…”
“Don’t strain yourself, just focus all your energy on providing for the Administration. Start the—”
“HUUGH!”
Lightning crawled through his veins, followed by a burning pain, like fire in its wake, scorching everything in its path. He felt it in his bones, leaving his system, sapping his energy, his soul, leaving only an empty husk behind.
The background noise started up again, having cut off when the intercom rang on.
“ Do your part for the Administration today! Give your blood, sweat, and tears so that the Administration and her Agents can continue to prosper. For the Good of the Administration. Devote your life and sacrifice everything for the Administration, and you too will prosper. For the Good of the Administration! . . . Do your part—”
His vision swam, blue and gold, followed by darkness, only for the blue and gold to reappear and the cycle to start over again, as he gave more and more for the Good of the Administration.
The Good of the Administration.

“ —re, Earth—”
“Agent Walker,”
“Hmmm,” The Agent swayed slightly, murmuring to himself.
“Agent Walker.”
Golden eyes flickered lazily to the person speaking.
“Good,” the person smiled, and Agent Walker knew that smile was disingenuous, but the person… the person… it doesn't matter.
“Now that I have your attention, are you ready for your new assignment?”
“...For the…Good of the…Administration…”
That smile grew sharper and colder, “Good Agent.”

“ —Wat—”
Rain poured, thunder crashed, and Agent Walker felt an odd calm fill him. He didn’t pay attention to the words leaving his mouth, a script his body followed as he let his mind wander.
The target's cries were silenced by a twitch of his hand, lightning striking them. The ocean loomed behind the target, roaring with fury in the storm. Waves crashed onto the shore, water trying to conquer the land, only to be pulled back.
To do the same thing over and over again.
Over and over again.
The same thing.
Over—
Rain poured, thunder crashed, and lightning followed, striking the target down before they knew what was happening.
Their body would be discovered after the storm and be labeled a freak accident. Mother Nature’s fury taken out on the poor soul.
Rain poured down, thunder crashed, and the cycle repeated.

“Jay…”
Golden eyes stared at the group before him. Eyes scanning, seeing, but not processing, not remembering.
A mean, cold (
adopted and familiar
) smile overtook his face, “On behalf of the Administrator, I welcome you to the Administration. “ The smile fell, “I hope you enjoy your stay…and realize that everything we do…is for the good of the realm, for its inhabitants. And what is good for the realm… is for the Good of the Administration.”
