Summary
Reaching his bedroom, Amuro shoves Char through the door and promptly slams it shut behind him, locking it and rounding on the other.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” he demands.
He can say this here because this is the one place Amuro knows there are no cameras, no wire taps, nothing that can overhear them.
In response, Char says nothing. Instead, he sits casually down on the bed, slipping his coat off his shoulders, folding it, and setting it to the side. Then, he crosses one leg elegantly over the other. The entire time, Amuro watches him, eyes narrowed, back to the door, adrenaline pumping furiously through his veins for the first time since the war.
“What a way to greet a friend,” Char smiles as he says it, like it’s a little joke.
“We are not friends,” Amuro spits.
“Ah, true. Forgive me,” Char turns away, looks down at his coat on the bed. The smile doesn’t leave his face. “I forgot. A lover.”

bc these bitches had no good day in their life, whenever i read tooth-rotting idealistic fluff (esp when its bailing amuro out!) where amuro actually chooses to go to space with char or like at least entertains him, is gentle on him (amuro: deep inside, char is a very gentle person!!), and char chooses (in an act of a miracle) to be straightforward, earnest and honest about being desperate instead of hiding for once in his life, i 🥹 instead of running away like id normally do with other ships. bc they just deserve this dude..
im BASIC so i LOVED the shoulder/forehead touch. also i lowk need char's pov on amuro going like no what are you doing, we are only gonna pretend bc he was surely raising his eyebrows. also liked the "jovial salute", aww, so silly
