Summary
Shinazugawa Genya was a pathetic excuse of a Demon Slayer: slow, weak, immature and someone who held onto the idea that his elder brother would someday forgive him for his heinous actions even though Sanemi had quiet literally told Genya that he had no family - especially Genya for that matter.
Regardless, Genya pushes towards in an attempt to make things right between him and his only remaining immediate family member. Even if that meant carrying around Demon blood in little vials that he could chug at any moments necessary.

Genya knows that he is slowly killing himself with every drop of Demon blood that he injests and yet, he cannot find it within himself to care. All that matters is becoming a Hashira to propely get the chance to apologize and explain his side of the story to Sanemi.
If only his elder brother would hear him out before storming off.

As food is brought to their table, he watches Tomioka roll up Tokito’s sleeves. Since when did he care about anyone but himself? Why was the movement so natural? He was doting on Tokito like he was his mom or something. Other than rolling up Tokito’s absurdly baggy sleeves, he’s been periodically handing the kid tissues and adding more food to his plate. Sanemi even catches him wiping Tokito’s mouth! Who is this man?

A series of strange and slightly improbable events results in Giyuu and Muichiro forming a tight bond. Somewhere along the way, Sanemi is pulled in, too.

What should have happened when Obanai caught his best friend’s little brother purging was this: he should have made him stop and stayed home with him until Sanemi got back to make sure Sanemi knew what was going on with Genya so that Genya could get the help he needed because clearly he needed help.
He should have been horrified. He should have at least been worried. Instead, as Genya sputtered out excuses and pleaded with Obanai to not tell Sanemi between hyperventilate-y gasps, Obanai found that more than anything, he felt…oh, what was the word…
