“Just wanted to check on you.”
Sonar stares into the ceiling. “I'm managing,” he says. “I'm occupying myself with heavy, philosophical thinking so I don't give into the urge to bash my head in with a rock.”
It's true. He's antsy. He has been, for this past week. He wishes he could get back to work as soon as he can, regain that sense of normalcy he foolishly gambled away.
