“Viktor,” comes Jayce’s voice, murmuring in low tones.
He blinks several times, and Jayce’s face swims into view, his eyes wide and fearful, his hands hovering close but not daring to touch.
“Your medication, where is it?”
Medication?
Viktor shakes his head, winces, nearly begins dry heaving. He hauls himself back from the edge by sheer force of will.
Warmth, cradling the length of his face, firm yet gentle as it turns his gaze back towards Jayce’s unrelenting one.
“Where is it, V? Come on, help me out here,” he urges desperately, his eyes searching.

Summary
Jayce is always reaching for him, now. He’ll nuzzle his nose into the crook of Viktor’s neck, inhaling deeply, arms snaking around his waist, and Viktor will stiffen and shiver but he’ll let him, he always lets him.

Viktor jolts out of his thoughts, arriving at their doorstep. He keys open the door, stepping inside hurriedly, brushing himself off at his palms, his shoulders, his neck, as if in doing so he could brush away the memory.
They haven’t discussed it. Not really. This…thing between them. It’s driving Viktor insane. The smiles, the touches, the looks. Jayce is always looking at him. Back then, it had been all Viktor secretly yearned for. Now? It fills him with a heat he scarcely knows how to handle.

Summary
“You should kill me,” Viktor murmurs, still refusing to even look at Jayce. The pain that lances through his heart far exceeds the burn in his knees.
“How can you say that? No, how can you ask that of me? After…” he trails off, unable to put words to the cosmic experience they’d just endured minutes ago. Viktor shrugs. His hair falls in waves around his face, hiding his expression.
“Is it so different? I surrendered myself to the arcane, now I surrender myself to you.”
Jayce did not think it possible his heart could drop further, but it does. Viktor always had a way with achieving the impossible. He also always had a way with Jayce’s heart.
I surrender myself to you. Jayce would be a liar if he said he hadn’t imagined it at least once before. But he had imagined dealing in pleasure, not pain, and certainly not punishment. Not like this. Never like this.

“Jayce.”
His voice echoes like a thousand resounding bells, ethereal, godly. To any other being, it would’ve sounded commanding. But Jayce knows Viktor like he knows his own soul. He smiles, soft and sad.
“Are you here to say goodbye?”
Viktor shifts, like a ray of sunlight filtering through stained glass. In the next blink, he no longer spans the universe. He is simply a man.
“How is it that you continue to surprise me?” He murmurs.
His eyes crinkle with the slightest wonder, framed by hair silvering like starlight. Jayce’s heart leaps. Viktor is, as always, beautiful.

Almost in tears while reading this
Rather than draw back, rather than let go of the paper-thin folds still connecting them, there was a subtle shift of Shota’s fingers. A whisper of parchment.
And there, beneath the crumpled edge of Hizashi’s resignation letter, was another folded sheet: pristine and neatly folded and new. It took a moment to fully register what he was seeing, but through the thin press of cheap computer paper, Hizashi could just make out the ghost of Shota’s signature.
“What’s this?” His words were barely air, but when his eyes snapped up from the pages in his hand, Shota’s dark gaze was already there to meet him.
“My resignation,” he said, and Hizashi forgot to breathe. “We can turn them into Nezu together. You’re an idiot if you think I’d be happy anywhere without you.”
A sharp tug of the paper between them.
The rustling of both letters hitting the floor.
The brush of long calloused fingertips against Hizashi’s jaw.
The unmistakable crack of something like sorrow in Shota’s words as he closed the distance between them.
“And I’m an idiot for ever letting you think otherwise.”

He said he’s going to get her. He gave me his phone and told me to hide. He’ll find her, then find me, then bring us to you—”
A loud rattle sounded. Megumi fell dead silent, and Suguru’s heart dropped.
“Megumi,” he whispered. “Where are you?”

Honestly, feels like the companion piece too “be together” by itishighnoon. While this story is about Achilles advising Zagreus by telling him the story of how he knew he was in love, the other one-shot is about Patroclus recounting to Thanatos the very same moment of Achilles waiting for him from his perspective. Like two halves of a whole.

Shouta fought an instinctive urge to deny the request outright. It was hard to describe the deep primal fear that gripped him.
