Klavier boards a 3:10 pm flight from LAX that takes him to Dubai, where he spends the night in the airport lounging on a bench and then boards another plane at four in the morning. He arrives in Kathmandu the day after due to time zones, and from there, he drags himself onto a train that takes him through tunnels and up into the mountains, where he finally lays eyes on the Kingdom of Khura’in for the first time.

“...I thought the nightmares stopped,” Phoenix says after a few minutes of silence. Just his presence being close by helps Miles feel less isolated. The room isn’t that big, especially compared to his own back in Frankfurt, but he feels small in it.
“They did,” Miles tells him, his voice sandpaper. “They stopped.”

Erwin can't breathe, he rarely ever can. His right arm hurts and he doesn't know why. Well, yes, he does but he doesn't want to believe that. He doesn't want to believe that his nightmare might have been or might someday be his reality. So he denies. He denies and he watches romcoms and disney movies in the middle of the night to soothe his fear. It's hard to realize how lonely you are, when you never knew what it was like not to be. But now he isn't lonely any more. He knows when he's dreaming and when he's awake. He can breathe. He has Hange.
