How can you tell if someone has a crush on you when they're hard to read? Will had claimed. And it ticked Mike off because who else could he possibly be referring to? How many other hard to read people has he been in love with? No, scratch that, how many people has Will been in love with at all?
Mike has known him all his life.
And he has some nerve trying to paint Mike as the villain; as if he hasn't been sitting here with his chest open and his heart hanging on display for the better half of the past hour, begging Will to reciprocate even a fraction of how he feels for him.
or the one where byler finally talk without being interrupted. things get off to a rocky start, but between mike's candour and will's patience, i think they'll work this out just fine

I don't know why I bother with the "dear" shit at all actually. Just feels right, I guess, even if you're extremely UNdear to me and I still LOATHE you and everything you represent. You are my ball and chain. My jail cell. I scratch the lines of your dumb paper like a fuckin. Criminal or some shit would rattle the bars of their cell with a metal cup or something. Like in those old movies, where they wear black and white stripes and everything, y'know? That's me whenever I write in you. I hope you know that.
I hope the knowledge of that fills you with as much dread as the sight of your stupid red cover fills ME with dread. I hope you grow to hate me as much as I hate you. I hope we hate each other so much that they have to invent a fuckin. Hate marriage. A marriage of hatred. Just for a man and his journal to get humbly hate-married to each other.
Anyways.
