Summary
It was rarely good when Phil got called into the overseer’s office, but it was usually fewer people to handle, at least. Easier to have to please his owner and the man’s guests than to be passed around the guardhouse again, or to be used as entertainment for whatever group of miners had pleased their bosses best this week. If he navigated things carefully and was lucky, sometimes after he had done his job he got fed tidbits of fancy food—dishes made with spices, or vegetables that hadn’t been cooked to an indistinguishable pulp, or real meat—or got to sit on a cushion in a corner. When he limped into the room, it was with what passed for hope, nowadays, glowing in Phil’s chest.
There was a piglin hybrid there, a tall and muscled man with an enchanted greataxe on his back. He had scars that spoke of a life of violence across his face, and his hands on his weapons were large and blunt. He looked angry already.
“—we don’t have the funds to pay you this week,” the overseer was saying, tone unconcerned. “But we’ve come up with an alternative. The bird’s market value is worth about what we owed you, so we’ll just give it to you and call it even.”
OR: Phil is given to a new owner. He doesn't expect it to go well.

Lately, your friend has been complaining about one of his demons. He runs a small breeding business— specifically, managing the studs—, and even though you find that sort of operation far too off-putting to be interested in the details, the fragments of information pieced together over the last few months are adding up to one deeply miserable-sounding picture.
An older demon with a long history of quality offspring has been acting up— from what you’ve gathered, these behavioral issues started sometime last year, and none of your friend’s attempts at fixing them have done any good. It’s frustrating, tiresome, an unfortunate loss of profit... or so the tirade goes, every month or so you hear it repeated. And little by little, his complaints toward this unfortunate demon grow increasingly bitter.
Finally, over brunch with your small group of acquaintances, you find out that his frustration has morphed into something more conclusive.
“I’m getting rid of him,” your friend says between casual sips of his coffee, “for cheap, too. I have a replacement now, so anything’s less of a loss than keeping him around. So if anyone here is interested...”

He could be perfect. A perfect blood bag.
But when the Angel of Death showed interest in him, he faced challenges he'd never thought he'd encounter.Or: Phil would normally never buy a living blood bag but strange times asked for unusual solutions. And he did intent to set him free as soon as possible and offer him a good life in one of his citys in the Antarctic empire. Why he ended up choosing this scared looking teenager was another question. Maybe following his originally plan would prove to be harder than he thought. Maybe his kids would love to have another brother.
Or: Tommy is terrified, Phil gets attached - as he does. And things get better.
Dark SBI, especially in the beginning - but Phil is a softy for fatherless kids - even if they're TECHNICALLY just a means to survival.

The demon is looking at you like you’re going to kill him. Or like he’s about ready to try to kill you. He’s an ugly one, one of them that doesn’t resemble a person much at all beyond his general shape. Deathly pale skin covered in thick, night-sky blue stripes, close-shorn hair, and huge, unblinking eyes with sclera like shattered glass. He’s not very big, but the way he’s hunched in the corner isn’t from fear. That’s pure tension.
What you read in the paperwork was horrifying. This demon is from a fight ring— one of the worst known yet. The conditions there were so brutal that they’d been shut down in a second, no chance to defend the brawls.

Summary
What if Muzan had a different idea for handling the descendants of his nemesis?
Seeing them as small children, he sees more use in them. So he turns them into *half* demons. They will still age, (mostly because he doesn't want to have to deal with toddlers for eternity) even if it is at a slower rate.
However, even though he decides to turn Tanjiro and Nezuko into little half demons, he doesn't want to actually raise these two. He's a busy man, he doesn't want to deal with kids. So who of the upper moons would be best? Probably the guy who basically raised his sister anyway- Gyutaro!
So that's the basic premise of the AU. Still brainstorming it with a friend, but I thought it was a fun idea.

Where treatment (and treats) were given out freely.Where societal tags (and their due expectations) were shot and murdered at the front door.
And if you ignored this rule, you too were shot and murdered at the front door.
By whom was a gamble.Everybody knew about the tiny apartment on the East End of L'manberg.
Everybody also knew that if you touched any of the occupants, well...
You'd have the entirety of super-powered society (underground and otherwise) gunning for your head.Tommy Innit, the owner of said apartment, lived quite the interesting life.
Seriously, he just wanted to bake cookies, what just happened?OR
5 times Tommy dropped everything to help everyone else, and 1 time they dropped everything to help him. -

Summary
Tommy was miles from home, bloody and panting, stumbling through the dirty streets as he did his best to cover his tracks. There was no doubt in his mind that Dream would be after him, and this time, he wouldn’t take so long to kill him.
Tommy couldn’t do this anymore. He wished the heroes had killed him the moment they first caught him. Even now, having escaped, he wanted to die. He just didn’t want to be alone as he did it.
But he had nothing and no one. He was alone.
His exhausted mind drifted to the only people he deemed important enough to want to be close to.
He wanted to die. Siren, the Blade, and the Angel of Death wanted to kill him. It was a match made in heaven.
And anyway, what was one more chase?

To you, Tommy would say, if he was stronger. He's not going to do anything to you.
But he doesn't. Tommy keeps his mouth shut—whatever it takes to stay.
When Techno and Wilbur Soot-Watson anger a bully, it shouldn't be an issue. They are as untouchable as they can get, for students anyway.
It's unfortunate that Tommy, their foster brother, isn't. Being their soft spot, it only makes sense that he becomes the next target.

“I have heard much of you, emperor Philza, and I have respect for you. Therefore, I’ll offer you a deal. You will surrender. You will kneel before me, right here, right now, and beg for mercy. Then I’ll take you to the Nether with me, and you’ll become my prisoner, slave, and personal servant. Or-”
The Blood God raised his netherite blade, pointing the tip straight at Philza’s heart.
“-I will allow you to die with a sword in your hand, and once you’re dead, I will slaughter your children.”
Philza fell to his knees without hesitation.

Philza had been prepared for a lot of things when he was taken as a war prize: the loss of his basic freedom, the heartbreak of being separated from his sons, the indignity of being reduced into the piglin king’s “pet”.
What he hadn’t been expecting was for the man behind the blood-stained mask to be soft-spoken, or good-natured, or tired from the weight of his crown.
Or lonely.
