Summary
After leaving his original dimension for his own safety, going off the rails in grief for a period, and finally processing enough to be mildly human again, Danny is ready to give this whole 'living' thing a try again.
He's in Gotham, in a dimension that he's grown fond of, and trying to lay down roots so that he can survive comfortably. Unfortunately, he can't recall how to make friends. Also, he doesn't want anyone to know he's actually dead because what if something like the GIW happen here?
Regardless, if he wants to stay, he needs to have a support circle to help his obsessions from ripping his mind from him again, which means he needs to befriend people, which means he needs to figure out how to speak to the Bats of Gotham.
This would be easier if there wasn't a cult trying to bring in ghosts from the Infinite Realms to cause havoc and give Danny a bad name.

Summary
Danny and Jazz moved to Gotham for a new start, especially since Danny had become weak and blind due to a bad reveal, which led to him being handed over to the GIW. It wasn’t ideal, but the wounds that Danny received during his captivity were so severe that if he overworked himself, he could actually die because of the strain.
So here they are, living in a small apartment in Crime Alley, and working at a club that allowed them some leeway for Jazz to check on Danny every now and again. They were surviving, not yet living, but just getting by enough to make a change in their new life.
However, a shadow of the past began to linger near them, but these ghosts were from a past that had long since been forgotten.

You wanted more than just praise, a pat on the head, or a candy. For months you've watched his hands perform delicate procedures and draw such beautiful colors from his visitors. Those hands that plague your fantasies have caressed you clinically. Their touch prodding at your pulse, at your neck, your wrist, he’s even touched your chest before- though that was only due to his worry over your racing heart.
It was maddening.
