Summary
Jack spreads his arms so wide he thinks he could hug heaven, if only he had the chance. Maybe mom can feel it. He closes his eyes, going to that quiet place in his mind where it feels like he's barely in his own body. His awareness narrows to nothing but the rain-water as it hits him, and the howl of the wind in his ears.
Jack remembers the last time he was this cold, bleeding out into the street three houses down from his childhood home.
Sometimes, ten minutes with Jack can scare you into thinking you've just watched a lifetime pass you by.

Wilbur frowns, but it's Techno who steps forward. "Tommy, he's not going to do anything," Techno tells him cautiously. "You don't need to worry, alright?"
To you, Tommy would say, if he was stronger. He's not going to do anything to you.
But he doesn't. Tommy keeps his mouth shut—whatever it takes to stay.
When Techno and Wilbur Soot-Watson anger a bully, it shouldn't be an issue. They are as untouchable as they can get, for students anyway.
It's unfortunate that Tommy, their foster brother, isn't. Being their soft spot, it only makes sense that he becomes the next target.

Tommy sat still. He reached into his jacket pocket, his hand finding only a plastic pen. Could he stab this man with a plastic pen?
Tommy pulled said piece of plastic out, visibly holding it up. “I have a pen.” Something about the bemused look on the man's face made Tommy click it, and again, repeatedly.

A simple blink and suddenly the tall boy was dressed in some form of military costume, a bloody wound in the middle of his chest, and the pink haired boy had grown ears like a pig and clutched an axe of all things in his hand. Buck tries to soothe Bobby and Chimney as they talk about their shot at the calendar, but realistically, he’s got this in the bag. He’s the youngest, fittest and not to toot his own horn here, the most attractive guy working at the 118 Plus there was only room for one candidate per firehouse, so the result seemed pretty obvious. Unless there's some, yet to be revealed super hot guy, who could snatch the win off him. Someone so amazingly attractive that it would cause everyone to divert their attention to somewhere behind Buck.

Buck and Eddie meet as they do in the show, however Buck gets a call mid shift from Maddie saying she's with their parents. So ensues massive miscommunication within the entire 118 as Buck rushes off to try to help his sister, leaving Eddie disgruntled and the friefam confused.

Buck hadn’t been scared of much in his life, he was an adrenaline junkie, he ran into burning buildings for a living. But this? This was probably the most scared he’d ever been. Usually he had control, usually he knew what he was doing. He chose to go up that ladder, he chose to run into burning buildings, he chose to tempt fate. But right now he was in a huge metal coffin falling from 12,510 metres towards the Atlantic ocean, and he had no control whatsoever.
He pulled his phone out and opened the group chat he had with Hen, Eddie, Chimney, Bobby and Athena, “plane going down im sorry i love you” and hit send.

On top of all of that, he has to deal with his drunk father who occasionally likes to punch him when he is angry and drunk. Shawn is determined to graduate high school and Turner is going to make sure it happens for Shawn as he keeps a close eye on him.

Only Bobby placed him on B-Shift where his team and new Captain have made it their mission to make Buck's life a living hell. When it becomes too much and Buck starts thinking about ending it all, he receives a life-changing phone call from Captain Owen Strand who would like Buck to come join them down in Austin at the 126. Buck immediately jumped at the opportunity to get away from everything. Only his mental health problems didn't go away with the move and Buck struggles with what happened and how to start a whole new life. The 126 are not about to let him go through this alone and together they show Buck that he has a family with them and they would never turn their backs on him.
