Every day, Willow watches Tara die.Multiple times a day, actually. Almost always, really.
The gruesome film plays nonstop on the backs of her eyelids. Over and over. Every night when she tries to sleep, every blink, every time she squints when the sun’s too bright. Again and again and again.
She’s begged them to stop. Pleaded for her mind to replace it with some other horror—the looks of fear on her friends’ faces, their bodies struck down by her uncontrollable power, Warren being flayed alive, anything she deserves to feel guilty about. But her body wouldn’t listen, the traitor.The change in scenery didn’t help, either.

Cordelia pauses. She can’t quite pin down what exactly was up with her. Mean? No, she’d ran for bitch of the year before, that’s not special. Mentally unstable? No, again, that’s pretty par for the Buffy course. Only natural, considering the job, she supposes. Weird Catholic schoolgirl getup? Strange to be sure, but Cordelia has been baffled by her fashion choices many times. Or maybe the constant killing had finally broken Buffy and led her to god. Besides, she already had enough crosses she could fool most people into thinking she’s some Jesus freak, as opposed to what she really is: a regular freak.
“...brunette.”
Or: Kathryn is at Sunnydale High, and only Cordelia seems to know what's going on with her.

Being a Slayer comes with all sorts of physical enhancements—abnormal strength, heightened reflexes, vampire tinglies, that sort of thing.
Good aim doesn’t automatically come with the package. That is a skill honed with every vampire and demon slain.
And after a couple years living in Sunnydale, Buffy’s a damn good shot.
When she’s in the middle of a fight, she goes on autopilot. She lets her body do what it does best. Her arm will aim for the heart. She’ll kill the monster. She’ll save the day.
Buffy sinks the dagger into the chest of her enemy, panting from the physical exertion. It's a routine she knows well.
Only, it’s different.
Because she just stabbed Faith. In the heart.

Summary
As the cold terror gave way to numb, self assured action, she felt it. The warmth that faintly buzzed in the roof of her mouth and spread through the back of her neck and up to her temples.
Just gotta get warm, Lehane.
Her feet took her towards it, like a moth through a cold and wide night towards a distant light to die in. She wondered if moths were fully satisfied when their wings turned to dust, their blood to hissing smoke, the fire taking away any part of them that could be cold ever again.
She liked to think they were.
The first thing Faith feels is cold, followed shortly after by a buzzing memory of warmth. Weak, weary, and desperate, she leaves the hospital to find Buffy.
What she wants the woman who broke her for, she doesn’t exactly know.
Maybe it’s salvation, maybe it’s annihilation, maybe to Faith there’s no difference.
S4 fix-it with lots of angst, themes of domination/submissiveness, Buffy being a control freak and Faith needing to be controlled!

Summary
Spike hadn’t felt it the first time she had died, too high on the joy of Dru’s fangs, the dizziness of exsanguination. She had fallen asleep in Dru’s arms, and had woken up in them, too. All around, the experience was less horror than bliss.
But getting her soul back felt like how she imagined dying should have. It slammed into her body, burning so brightly she couldn’t hold back a cry as it seared through her, settling inside her bones in a way it hadn’t in over a hundred years, making a too-big space for itself within her. She didn’t recall falling, but she was aware of the ground under her hands and knees as she shuddered through the aftershocks of its return, nearly choking on the sensation of all the lives inside her body.
When the physical pain stopped, the screaming began. A hundred thousand screams over the years, people she’d killed, people she’d tortured, blood she’d bathed in. It was paralyzing, horrifying, to feel it all like a bruise being pressed on, when before she had only cared about it in the abstract.
The mouth of the cave was right there, and it was bright outside. God, the light. The light could help.
She dragged herself towards it, and went mad before she touched the sun.
