Shane squirms around to reach into his back pocket and drops something on Ilya’s chest. He tucks his chin to see.. a small folding knife, blade tucked away, a plain black handle. It looks utilitarian, like someone might take it on a camping trip. Ilya blinks at it, looks up at Shane who is frozen above him, a question behind his eyes. 'A mark' he said. 'Something that lasts' he said. Ilya feels his brain stall like he’s just fucked up his car, and when it coughs back into gear he abruptly realises he’s getting hard so fast it actually hurts.
