On screen, Kim Dokja looks at the countdown. I didn't get to die today and suddenly I'm in TWSA. In a cabin which story was never told in the novel. The novel that ended today, but never truly reached the end. I want to read, Kim Dokja thinks feverishly. I want to read the end. And to do that, I'm going to have to survive.
In the present, Kim Dokja was yanked up by the collar. It didn't even occur to him to get away from the Protagonist. His head felt like it was stuffed with cotton, as if he breathed some sort of thought-annihilating mental miasma. The incoming violence was bound to happen.
"Tell me the truth."
Kim Dokja's eyes flew open. He had closed them with the expectation of getting his face caved in, not a question.

A non-linear ORV character study/reaction fic where Dokja's suicidal ideation is a bit more obvious from Day 0. Kim Dokja's Company, who had been whisked away into an open space under the starry night after the destruction of the Throne, watches Kim Dokja's memories and realizes that he had intended to die during that fateful subway ride. Not knowing yet that the truth is even more devastating.

Summary
NEBULA is the first 'unsuccessful' group under Star Stream Entertainment. Unsuccessful in the sense that they have a small-knit fandom and are not very popular, even though the group just before them had become very well-known. You see, it's a hit to the company's ego.
It's not that they're untalented. Far from it, in fact. They're more talented than many of the more popular chaebol groups.
Perhaps it's because of internal disharmony.
Kim Dokja and Yoo Junghyeok hate each other. Well, not hate, but Kim Dokja is intimidated by Yoo Junghyeok but still pesters him, and Yoo Junghyeok is irritated by him BECAUSE he pesters him. They have been at odds since trainee days.
However, when a fan records an out-of-context video of them, of Junghyeok choking Dokja because he was too pissed off, and it goes viral, the company knows just what to do to launch them to popularity.
Fanservice is the way to go, baby.

In a world obsessed with killing and dying, Seiko is mostly concerned with chasing off her boredom. The Academy wasn’t exactly intellectually stimulating, but dying in the second shinobi war sounded like a long walk off a short pier. Everyone is always so stressed about avoiding attention, or min-maxing skills in situations like this.
Seiko is of the opinion that those people need to chill the hell out. Maybe play a little shogi. Death comes for them all anyways. Better to enjoy this all while it lasts.

The moment his finger’s brushed against Vox’s cheek, a cold metallic pressure cinched around Alastor’s throat.
