    Siblings Olivia and Matt are transmigrated into Crisis Core era FFVII. Matt is a huge Final Fantasy fan, so when he sees Shinra coming, he runs like hell. Olivia knows nothing about Final Fantasy, so she ends up in Hojo's lab.

    Hojo delivers Olivia into Sephiroth's care, hoping to breed his new alien specimen with his prize SOLDIER. Instead, the two form a deadly alliance.

    The strangest thing about a body like Sephiroth's was that nudity didn't make him more vulnerable.

     

    His hot villain getup was intimidating, for sure. It broadened his shoulders, emphasized his height. But it also added personality, for lack of a better word. Black leather for that cool bad guy vibe. Voluminous skirt on the coat for a regal flare. The harness was clearly a thirst trap. Remove the getup and he was just as threatening but so much harder to read. Scarier, in a lot of ways.

    Love this series!! I read this fandom-blind and enjoyed every second of it. Lots of interesting themes at play here outside of the romance which in itself plays into the larger work.

    It touched you. The smooth leather of its glove grazed your temple, putting the hairs back in place behind your ear. It was a light touch, barely there, but more than enough to kill you.

    And yet, you still breathed.

    World-building in this story is potentially beyond any I've read in a fanon work. Could almost be classified as its own universe with its take on OCs, techniques, and clan politics. And beyond the awesome world-building, the writing itself is *chef's kiss* *chef's kiss*. Needless to say, an absolutely stunning masterpiece so far. So glad I get to reread it and it's still updating!

    Just wow. When it comes to world-building, J. R. R. Tolkien's works might take the crown, and this story does a beautiful rendition of it. Following a modern p.o.v of The Hobbit series, Middle-Earth becomes a wonderous and absolutely terrifying place as the female protagonist gets a little too comfy dancing with death. She's an absolutely fascinating character herself, written with the type of worldly experience that makes you think she's got her own stories to tell. Whether it's on Middle-Earth or from some place in our own world, the scenery and detail to locations is stunning. A beautifully fun and poignant read.
