Summary
Zuko doesn't wake up after the Lightning strikes his chest. It's too quick, and he can't siphon its blow. He falls, slowly dying. Slow enough to see his sister fighting Katara. Slow enough to see their battle unfold. When he finally succumbs the last thing he sees is Katara rushing over a second too late, trying futilely to save his life.
The only thing he hears are Azula's screams and cries, as she sits chained to the grate in a sobbing mess. When Zuko finally succumbs to his wounds he hears her cry.
When he wakes he hears a laugh, and it's the laugh of a child.

It wasn't exactly how Izuku had seen his day going. He could honestly say that killing the No. 2 Pro Hero had not been part of his life plan. Well, what was done was done. Accidents happened, and his accomplices in both the murder, as well as the cover up thereof, were actually very nice people, so really he couldn't complain. That Endeavor's son was one of them, they were all future classmates in UA's hero course and that the accidental killings just kept piling up when no one else seemed to have similar issues were all minor details really. After the fourth time it happens, though, they decide that they should probably get that under control before they ended up full time Pros. Or in Tartarus. Maybe becoming quirkless vigilantes would help?
