Summary
Clark admires Batman, the man who has given up civilian life to protect everyone else's, the tough, sharp, and compassionate man. Bruce admires Superman, the alien who, despite being able to dominate them all by force, has decided to take care of a planet that isn't his own.
And, even with these two flawed principles, neither of them can imagine how alone the other feels... and how alone they themselves are.This is a long story, the superbat fanfic I've always wanted to write about how, within the canon, one day something changes and they find each other.

The billionaire suddenly held out an expectant upturned hand, and after a moment of confusion Clark hesitantly and gently placed his own atop the billionaire’s for an incredibly awkward handshake.
Clark may be a writer, but he couldn’t possibly conjure words to describe the puzzled amusement on Wayne’s face. “I was expecting a business card.”
“OH!” Clark flushed as he hastily pulled out the Daily Planet business card, then scrawled his name and phone number on the back.

“That doesn’t mean I have to like how people are acting,” Clark replied, well aware he was pouting. He gestured to the monitors. “Look, B. They think it’s a joke. They think it’s a joke that I love you.”
Snippets of a time when Bruce Wayne and Superman's relationship gets outed to the public, and the half-dozen kidnappings that follow as a result. Oh, and nobody thinks Bruce Wayne is good enough for him, and Clark would really like everybody to stop thinking that, please.
If Bruce could just take this seriously, Clark's heart could make it to the end of the month. Except that by the end of the month, Bruce has been kidnapped again, and this time Clark has no idea where he is.

Summary
Listen, Bruce Wayne was great at the whole secret identity thing. Or he had been until all the Robins started popping up. There's only so many coincidences that the people of Gotham can ignore until it clicks. And when child after child started popping up in Wayne manor, and a matching child popped out from Batman's cape, there was no denying it anymore. So yes, Gotham knew that Batman was Brucie, who was also Bruce Wayne. But if the only thing that kept that man sane was dressing up in a bat costume and protecting the city then who were they to stop him?
And so the game began. Everyone knew Batman's identity (except the black haired, blue eyed kids although even that backfired eventually) and Gotham would do everything to protect Bruce from the knowledge that yes, the entire city did actually know what he got up to in his free time.
Shenanigans ensue.
