Jean can’t keep the shock off of his face as he stalks out of the office. The last time he had seen Kevin, he was depositing him on Wymack’s doorstep with a poorly bandaged hand, a note he had stolen from Tetsuji’s office, and enough benzos in him to stop him from fighting Jean the whole way there.
For about a month after that, Jean held onto hope that Kevin would come back for him, or that he would tell someone about Evermore and they would all get out.
That hope has long since died.

It's been barely a month since the win against Evermore, and Neil is doing his best to adjust to the new freedoms he now had. His father was dead and the rest of his men were being hunted into hiding, and Neil was admittedly feeling...good! While he knew that along the way, he'd made plenty of enemies, he hadn't accounted for the people who he'd never even met before.
Dr. Proust was a man who had likely been swayed by money and power, and now he was being hunted after associating with Riko Moriyama. Keeping up to date with the news and connecting the dots, it didn't take rocket science for Proust to figure out that Neil must have had something to do with the turn his life had taken. If he was going to go out though, then he'd rather go out with the satisfaction of breaking yet another Fox.
